Skip, we are a cast of characters here on ARBR right out of Shakespeare. I
strive to effect humor too, but I recognize there is a very nasty edge to my
humor unlike yours. Mr. Sherman is a neutral so we can both play off of him.
And then there are the total idiots which only I can deal with. It is a tale
told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. But let us
have some fun while we are at it.

Jimmy Mac and Ed Gin are the best of enemies, just as Tom Sherman and I are.
I think that is the best we men can ever do - be the best of enemies. I envy
women who can be true friends to one another. But we men are not built that
way. Too bad for us I guess.

And I also believe there are some who mistake Ed Dolan's arrogance and
self-aggrandizement for arrogance and self-aggrandizement when what is
intended is self parody, and by extension, parody to all the other pompous
individuals that exist among us. If is really amazing to me that others do
not seem to be able pick up on this. I will have to hone my writing skills
even better than they presently are if I am to communicate what I want to

Yes, I think that is true. I have out pompous-ed the lot of them and scared
them off. I think we have a much better group of members here on ARBR now,
even if we have lost some of the so called experts. I hate pomposity in all
it's forms. I will admit we do go off the rails more than formerly, but so
what. Everyone now is free to post and say what they think without being
browbeaten to death. Notice that I am only a stickler on form and I never
begrudge anyone their god given right to say whatever they want to say.

ARBR is a miracle. There is absolutely nothing that anyone can say to me
that will have any effect on me at all. I have grown the hide of a
rhinoceros. I have Mr. Sherman to thank for educating me in the ways of
Usenet. It was a hard education, but it was a sure education. Others should
get similarly educated and then we can all have some fun here on ARBR. Those
very sensitive types do not belong on Usenet. Moderated forums are the place
for them.

but, make no mistake about it, arrogance and self-aggrandizement are
his specialty and to think other wise is a mistake. I once observed
the man with fist clenched, pumped into the air as some of his adoring
acolytes (devoted disciples) chanted GL ... GL ... GL... GL!!! When I
finally got Ed to admit what that meant, I learned that it stood for
God Like. If that's not arrogant, I stand corrected. As concerns
self-aggrandizement, I could right a book, and I've virtually have done
just that here on the Internet over the years. Suffice it to say that
all that all is said in jest is not a joke. Read between the lines and
you will see the man for what and who he really is.

Jim, it is no contest. Ed Gin has ever proven himself as you say. I myself
affect a God like endowment but anyone who can read can clearly see that it
is nothing but self parody and by extension applies to all the blowhards in
this world. My name calling is always in response to others, but Ed Gin
seems to name call with out any provocation at all. I have noted your posts
are always measured and reasonable. Ed Gin may indeed be crazy if I can
judge him by his posts to ARBR. Anyone here on ARBR who has not decided the
issue in your favor is bonkers.

Thanks for the kind words. Although you don't know Mr.Gin personally,
from my post you should have a fairly good grasp of what the man is
about ... mostly himself, and Mr. Gin fills in the gap if I happen to
overlook something, each an every time he runs his mouth. I try to
keep my posts measured and reasonable, but at times it is exceedingly
difficult to remain restrained, but prefer not to stoop to Mr. Gin's
level. Although I didn't ask for anyone to pick sides, I was always
curious what the readership thought. I'm sure that some think that we
are both a few clicks off, but I can assure you that on the sanity
scale, Mr. Gin and I are worlds apart and that's the way I like it. If
I could exclude him from my known universe by some miracle of magic, I
would do so in a heartbeat. At any rate, thanks for the vote of
confidence. I have to wonder who the readership thinks puts on the
better show ... Ed and I or you and Tom. I'm just glad we never had at
it or the newsgroup readership would really have cause to pull out

Jim, I have answered you in an email and so will not respond here to the
substance of your post.

I think over the long haul that Mr. Sherman and I have put on a pretty good
show here on ARBR for the past couple of years. Neither one of us ever goes
away, so everyone here is used to us by now. We are constantly lying in wait
to pounce on one another if anything gets said that is the least bit
obnoxious to one or the other of us. We are just a couple of rattlesnakes
keeping tabs on one another.

Mr. Sherman and I are more or less serious all the time whereas that is not
the case with you and Ed Gin. So we are basically in different arenas.
