    The Lions started their Tour of New Zealand with a resounding win over
    top club side Bay of Plenty in Rotarua winning 34 - 20 (6 tries to 2
    ).

    !7 points up with three tries inside 10 minutes looked ominous for the
    Bay side, but they came back with tremendous enthusiasm to score two
    tries and level the score at half time.

    However, the Lions came back with a much more calculating game in the
    second half scoring a further 3 tries to clinch an exciting game which
    was a credit to the home side.

    The kick off was at 0800 BST which meant an early start this morning
    to get the dogs fed, watered and exercised before the game.

    This promises to be an exciting series to which we are all looking
    forward with great enthusiasm and anticipation.

    The USA play Wales tonight and are in with a good chance with many of
    the top Welsh players in NZ with the Lions.

    Being scottish, and living next to a bunch of butt bangers like the
