Ok, I'll clarify ... wind. Lot's and lot's ... None from myself ...

I did manage to come halfway in the pack, with a time just above 8 hrs ....
however wasted 20 minutes fixing a puncture with my newly recent "funny
fingers", no tyre levers and a cardboard fix to the tyre itself ....

A tough, tough ride all in all ...

I didn't find the wind too bad but I did get the wheel-hugging down to
a fine art! All told the weather was rather better than I expected. I
thought I was just over 8 hours too but my official time was inside it
with a minute to spare. Well chuffed.

Bad luck with your puncture; the fairy seemed to be smiling on me
yesterday.

I had to take it cautiously as I came in as I had a big blow out at the
bottom of the third hill. Still hit some nice speeds, but couldn't "give it
some" as worried my tyre would shred ... shame, but a good day all round.

Surprised that my legs feel pretty good today. I reckon they're 95% okay ..
still not going to touch the bike for a while 😉

Nope, pretty dry .. only wore my waterproof top for about 20 mins ... rest
of the time it was dry with occasional slight drizzle.

Judging by the number of riders I passed who were fixing punctures I was
lucky to get all the way through without one. Luck that was probably
helped by fitting spanking new tires the night before the ride.

I was please not to have to ride to work today but will be on the bike
tomorrow for the commute whether they like it or not.

Thank you. I was (only very slightly) disappointed not to average 18mph
since that was my goal. I'm now clinging to the fiction that if I had
not stopped for every red light I would not have lost the 7'67" that
would have made it so.
