Brecon Beacons access land

I have no idea.

I have walked in the Beacons for many years, and I cant remember coming
across any areas where I wanted to walk, where I could not.

The only notices I can recall were about dogs at lambing time and they
will probably still put those out every spring.

I have yet to find the RTR legislation any use but that might be because
I have been practising RTR on the hills since I was a lad and very few
(any?) of the higher hills have had real access problems.

Still went there, never a problem - even before the 1984 change.
Plenty did.. ditto the moors above Ogof Ffynnon Ddu.

They had a no access ever policy until 1984.

Most of my visits to the area have been from 1986 onwards but I did
visit perhaps a dozen times in the late 60s/early 70s for either caving
or walking but but memory has faded (or in the case of the walking
probably overwritten :-)) and I can't remember be bothered by any
restrictions.

Not sure... It may be the successor to the NCC. It was definitedly
differently managed - not grazed as anyone who has run there will
know..

That's way before I first got there but their permissive paths were
sufficiently indistinct to provide de facto access to the whole area
(outside lambing) even before the CROW act came into force. Maybe they
were just asserting their rights while not being killjoys to individual
walkers?

The main advantage to me has been with respect to climbing rather than
walking - since you stay in the same place all day there was
previously a higher chance of being told to leave. Though I've still
been told to stop climbing at Feizor Nick even thou7gh we now have the
right to.
