  1. I'm wondering whether any of you Breathwalk. I started
to Breathwalk about a year ago, and it revolutionized
my walking. I enjoy walking a great deal more now. If
anyone here has tried it or would like to try it, I'd like to
    hear about your experience.

What is it? You can find out on this website,

    http://www.breathwalk.com/

    It's the
"official" website, but it's somewhat contaminated by
its authors' (who invented Breathwalk) trying to sell you
a book or tape or something. But it does tell you all
you need to try Breathwalk. I've never bought any of
their products because I don't think they're necessary.
In breathwalk you simply synchronize your steps, your
breath, and the sub-vocalization of a mantra. I do it at
gait fast enough to make the walk aerobic. It so damn
simple, I must sound idiotic mentioning it here, but I
find it absorbing. I've been meditating for decades,
but meditation is so, so sedentary. : o )

I wrote a little ditty about Breathwalk for some friends

    Are you feeling sad?
    Are you feeling blah?
    Just do the Breathwalk rag:
Sa Ta Na Ma, Sa Ta Na Ma.

The website made me think of that old joke:

"Tell me Master, what is masturbation?"
"Ah, when you have eyes like mine, Glasshopper........"

A primal sound scale? Good grief.

Sounds a load of rubbish to me. Millions of years of evolution have
'taught' us to walk and breathe pretty efficiently. Early ancestors that
couldn't breathe and walk (or run) efficiently were soon weeded out by
    predators - Darwin Rules!

  10. I showed this website to my wife (who's from Chicago) with the comment
"This kind of thing isn't really for us Brits of course!" She replied
that it was only for a certain kind of American too! ;-)

    Cheers,

  11. Not that it sounds like anyone is planning on doing so but maybe before
going for a breathwalk folk would like to check out who is behind the
idea. Sites like this might help:

That's the guy alright! Best to wear a white turban
like his on your Breathwalks. Thanks for the link.
BTW, Breathwalk is quite addictive. Once you're
hooked, the Yogi can have his way with you. Ouch!

Yeah, and we Brits and Americans gotta stick
together and win the war on TERROR. Here's
the mantra I subvocalize when I Breathwalk.

    instead of

    1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4

    or

Sa Ta Na Ma, Sa Ta Na Ma,

    You could use

[censored] Tone Ee Blare, [censored] Tone Ee Blare

    If you're so inclined.
