Good Morning. I am on my third cup of black coffee.

    Yay, Margaret's here!!

Breakfast this morning was last night's leftover mashed potatoes
combined with egg and cheddar and jack cheeses, made into pancakes,
and fried in butter. Oh, my, was it good.

Good for you, Serene. My usual breakfast is my share of the leftovers,
while my wife (who insists on a *real* breakfast) takes her share to
    work for lunch.

I once wrote a restaurant review of a place that had Sunday brunch,
leading with, "Ours is a mixed marriage." She could have hot or cold
cereal, etc., and I could get fried chicken or chicken fried steak,
etc. It was a chain called Home Town Buffet, and I'm sorry they didn't
survive here more than 4-5 years.

Ordinarily I'm not sore from riding unless I fall from taking a jump.
OTOH, I'm trying to learn Dressage on my friend's horse, which is trained
in it. I'm using muscles I did not even know existed πŸ˜‰ It's a good sore
though. Eventually I would like to train my horse on some of the Dressage
techniques. I think just about any horse benefits from this type of
    training.

I realize that dressage is a lot harder than it looks, one of the real
tricks being to make it look effortless. Having a few years of lessons
under my belt I now find dressage shows slightly more interesting that
watching paint dry, but probably a lot more interesting to do.

One thing I have learned from attending hunter jumper shows and dressage
shows, the food is a lot more interesting at the dressage shows.

It is. Watching dressage is dullsville. OTOH, the skill of both horse and
rider is what is being judged. To casual spectators dressage must be a
    real snoozer πŸ˜‰

Breakfast for me was at 1:30 PM, it was a supersized Big Mac meal w/coke,a
    small coffee (black)
plus an extra quarter pounder. Β Then for dessert over to jo-to-go for a
    mocha.

    Peace,

My breakfast was a lot more boring, English Muffin, toasted, with
Peanut Butter( crunchy) and OJ , washed down with several cups of
    coffee.

Sore from horseback riding? You need to do it more often. We had a
new rider in our class yesterday. She hd taken lessons before and was
getting back into it. She was starting to feel it by the end of the
lesson. Breakfast after my lesson was two strips of crisp bacon and
blueberry buttermilk pancakes. This morning I was back to my standard
    weekday breakfast... oatmeal.

Ordinarily I'm not sore from riding unless I fall from taking a jump.

Are you sure you're using that dressage whip on an equine? πŸ˜‰

Booze? What booze. The only time I have ever seen booze at a hunter jumper
show is at the end of very long days. Out barn hosts a Trillium and a
Challenge show. I always help out. I usually spend two days and two
evenings helping get ready for it, and then two days working on it. After
about 12 hours of show we have a chance to kick back and the owner brings
    out food and beer.

I do not drink and ride. A few years ago my son came home for a visit and
brought his new girlfriend. I had a few beers before my 6 pm lesson and was
planning to be home by 7:30 and we would have a nice dinner. That was the
night I got thrown and broke a collar bone.
