Mysef, Jaywoo, Gags, Lindsey, Brett, Ess and BikeSoiler today.. great
weather for a ride, except for those cold pockets...brrrr... Soiler lost
his glasses going down the big hill just down from the fruit shop.. a few of
us saw something on the road and couldn't pick it.. I asked Jaywoo and
Soiler who were ahead if they'd lost something,.. it was Solier who had to
do the extra climb back up... some bad luck early on there..
Jaywoo had done some car recon work and had suggested we head past Alma Rd
and head up Clintons Rd, which comes out right at the Smiths Gully store..
and what a nice route! Another small road which gave it the Alma Rd
feeling, but a much more constant climb.. for the cherry on top, there is
some awesome downhill for the last few km to the store!!.. I'd like to
check out the right turn onto Ridge Rd, then back onto Clintons for the same
climb.. with a name like Ridge road I am sure its all flat 😉 The Clinton
Rd route we took today added 600-800m to my total BR, so doesn't delay
arrival to Smiths Gully by much.. oh, and to refer to another thread, there
are heaps of cows to moo at while you are climbing Clintons 🙂
Jaywoo took a right turn to Kinglake while the rest of us enjoyed the
northerly back into the city.. awesome day for a ride!
