  1. Is it still happening? I take it many are going to the crits at Kew Blvd?

Not sure if I'll be coming along yet but would like to know if the BR ride is an option.

    Ta.

    I'm up.

Bloody cold & foggy. I got to the meet point at 07:28 but no one was
there. I'd fitted a new saddle the night before (tested it too) and it
had come loose at Kew junction, which made me late. I rolled on through
the fog not knowing if anyone was ahead. By the time I'd got to the
fruit shop stop I needed to thaw out. I had what looked like snow
flakes forming on all leaded edges of me and my bike!
The Warrandyte climb was a welcome site as I was hoping all the work
was going to get me warm... marginally. I stopped again at Kangaroo
Ground to try and get some warmth back before decending into Watsons
Creek. The fog was still heavy and as I waited I could see two people
on bikes coming up the hill, but it they weren't BR-ers. As expected
the Watons Creek area was freakin' cold and my niggly left knee was now
playing up big time. I was now running on 1&1/2 legs. Clintons Rd was
hard with the knee and temp. I make it to Smiths Gully and see
Bikespoiler's bike. He is inside getting warm and chatting to the
    MTBers we see most weekends.
We take the short was back to Hurstbridge and get 'motor-paced' by a
tractor for some of the way.

Hurstbridge is in 'Party Mode' and there is barriers lining the streets

giving it a Pro race finish feel😄
The rest of the ride was regulation.
How'd ya 2nd ride go BS? That's 3 for the weekend isn't it? You BR
    butterfly🙂
Looks like I will have to do some r___ing to get my knee back in
    order🙁

How dare he be on the road. Isn't any traffic that slows anyone else
down supposed to be on the footpath or in a bike lane. Oh hang on, that
    only applies to bikes.

I was very glad to get inside at Smiths Gully. Very cold & damp by then.
Drafting the tractor was great, warmer than cutting the air yourself, nasty looking plow thing on the back though!

I was just in time for the BUG meeting. We looked at the hazardous intersection of Queens pde & High Sts in Clifton Hill. Much needed bakery goods were also had. A big W/E with both the FR & BR. 🙂

Oooo, forgot to mention; "POT HOLE ALERT"-"POT HOLE ALERT"-"POT HOLE
ALERT" booowt booowt booowt. After the Warandyte climb on the descent
to the round-a-bout there is a decent one. I can't remember seeing it
    last time.

yeah, noticed that last week but it was 'just' opening up at that stage.

    PS Manningham council rang me
(the power.bwahahahah) last week in response to my email to them/vicroads querying the ol' warrandyte rd works

'apparently' the next section is getting done THIS week,
basically the section including the first roundabout to just past the next roundabout (just after curve/before descent).
The balance, being to the creek (bottom of hill) is to be completed by
'1 December', altho he was confident they were well ahead of schedule on that

PPS the stretch will also include EBL-bikelanes!!!

Are they the real bike lanes or the [censored] occasional picture of a
    bike ones?

Yeah, came back from Europe on Wednesday last week.

The Tour was fantastic! Also, cycling around the Abruzzo region in Italy was amazing. Will tell everyone all about it on the next BR ride I attend (not this weekend as I'm going skiing before all the snow melts).

    BTW, work sux.
