Blah and I crusied up and chatted the whole Warrandyte/Pideon Bank climb, whilst Tim did a (rather slower 😄) Ess/Lama imitation and took off ahead.
We gets the the roundabout between Pideon Bank and KGround to find Tim sitting on far curb nursing grazrs down r=RHside and a very bleeding-lots hand. scratches/crack in helmet but otherwise 'OK'. RearD was wacked up some and after standing there and taking turns in fiddles, getting cold we decided to take the 'originalBR' route back and rahter easily. discovered a rather scrummy cake/coffeeshop in Heidelberg, however the 'service' wasnt up to our usual benchmark 🙄 .
Tim and I twiddled back to my place, cheered TC up with new SS project bits and he rode off. combo of wet/cold wasnt that friendly today. wind woulda really 'dampened' it

So, tomorrow morning 'easy' BR then?

Oh dear - I hope TimC is ok. I missed this morning's action with a little swimming, biking and r*nning at Geelong. Thanks very much to the cold snap about two or three weeks ago for dropping the sea temperature about four degrees (water temp in Corio Bay was measured this morning at 15 degrees C brrrrrr).

The bike leg was cold and my toes went numb. There was a headwind on the return leg but at least it didn't rain and I didn't have a mechanical like many in the field.

I'm too tired to go for an Easter Monday BR, though my brother-in-law is bringing his _ancient_ ten speed over to my place for a little clean up and service. Maybe we'll take it out for a spin afterwards.

    Ritch

PS. OT: The r*n leg was good (by my slow standards) 'cos I had enough in the tank to lift the effort in the second 5km lap.

raaaattthherrr c-c-c-c-c-c-old for the first 30 minutes. luckily my heart entered mouth on regular basis and warmed me up.
That stretch thru Eltham to KG (spat us onto BR route next to first bus-stop on climbtrial...) was awesome. if not friggin hard!
sorry for holding you two up so much. easy to see what the difference is between D+B/A grade... 🙄

I got up, and then realised that I couldn't bend ze knees (and/or
legs). Why is it that all sorts of muscles hurt after a crash that
didn't hurt immediately, and didn't seem to be involved?

Also, bed was far too warm and inviting. One shouldn't turn the TV on
late at night just in case you don't have the willpower to turn it
    off.

Very nice Road indeed, and wat do you mean D Grade?? You're a seasoned C Grader aren't you?😄 We climbed up to the top of that tower thingy at Kangaroo Ground, nice view up there. Lot of bikes on the way out while we were coming back too.

Got up, but still sore...so reluctantly went back to bed. Might try and make the torture session on Tuesday.

Similar situation for me, though I got up:p Got to Doni @ 07:22, waited till 07:30. Legs soggy all the way to Smith's Gully (BR route\Clintons). Nearly turned around I was feeling that [censored]. After Coffee & Muffin, decided WTF I've got all day & pointed it towards KL. Once on the climb things started to wake up slightly & was happy with my time (20:01) after riding all Easter. Lots-a HCC-ers @ KL Bakery. Banged back another Coffee & caned it home with some help from a wind-o-tail🙂

Thanks Dutch for making me feel much better about not attending. i went
for the more civilised ride with the family. Parked the car at Walmer St
and followed Yarra trail into city. Holy [censored] I've never seen so many
bikes!! And even more amazign is that most were well behanved and ridign
very sensibly. Some of those sections along the river don't have a big
margin for error when you have a trailer bike attached but not a single
worrying moment in either direction. Top ride.
    My stats 🙂
    Dist = 25km
Avg speed = 15kmh (faster than I expected)
Avg HR = somehwere around 110 (not that I would measure it on a ride
    like that)

Ritch, did you get a distance for the bike leg? At 20km mark it was spot on, but at the finish I was missing 300m! Just a minor detail..but just want to work out my average speed (which was [censored]).

Mass commonsense prevails from Sunday (er, Easter Monday) cyclists! Long may it continue. :p

Damn, 15 degrees? It felt A LOT colder than that. I am still shivering remembering that swim and I only had to do 400m. I started feeling sea sick with the waves and smell of the fumes from the dingys so was glad to be out of the water. Couldn't feel my toes during the ride and quite frankly was not feeling like pushing it too hard so will be up for a very slow time there. The run was my favourite bit for a change as my toes had some feeling in them again. 🙂 Happy to say I wasn't last in my age group. LOL

All up, I had fun but I am very glad that the triathlon season is over. I was very glad to only be staying a short walk away from the triathlon so I could get into a hot shower yesterday. I must be mad, I am already contemplating doing the Gatorade series next year.

Fwiw, I measured by GPS and came up about 150m short. However, I found the extras in the run, which I reckon was just slightly long. Maybe I should have straightlined between witches hats...
