BR-6500 problems with springs?

This brake uses ball bearings in the pivots that may need to be cleaned
with Ronsonol and lubed. Check to see that the full count of ball
bearings is present.

Check that the nylon bushing at the end of the spring isn't damaged. If
it is, spares may not be available :-(

Take it apart or have a competent bike shop do it. Clean. lube, make
sure the spring isn't broken. Not at all uncommon on ay brake caliper.

Yeah, I know it's the 6600, not the 6500. #%^$%%ing Shimano has gone
and Java-ized the Shimano Europe site and apparently forgotten to bring
all their old data sheets along.

Thanks for the help.
I checked all the things you guys suggested and all seemed fine, I observed
the problem more carefully and linked it too short of a cable, when the
lever is depressed the cable housing jumps out of the holder, and gets
slightly caught on the edge on the return.
