mike said:hi,
anyone using bowflex selecttech dumbbells?
about $350. thought they were a gimmick. then saw them at sports authority.
tough decision
pros:
spin a dial and weigh is added or dropped off - fast weight changes
takes up the room of only one set of bells.
seemingly less cost than buying a set of 15 different weight dumbells.
cons:
i wouldn't drop them on the floor
limited weight ( adjusts fromm 5 to 52.5 lbs) they should make them from 15
to 90
grip is a little weird, not bad, just different.
big question i guess is durability. will they last? who knows?
what do you guys think?
I like my olympic sized dumbbell handles. 10 pounds each and I can add
my oly plates to it. About $35.00 for the handles and maybe extra cost
for some extra 10 and 5 pound plates.
pros:
Takes up the room of only one set of dumbbells
Can be loaded with a lot more weight than 52.5lbs
Helluva lot cheaper if you already own an olympic weight set
If you don't own an oly weight set, you can get a 300lb set, the
dumbbells and some extra plates for the dumbbells for less than the
bowflex dumbbells themselves.
cons:
I wouldn't drop these on the floor either (while loaded). You might
break your floor and maybe your foot.
