Sorry you could'nt make the ride. The Scott Chamberlain/Belmont Wheelworks/Bacchetta sponsored
event only drew about 16 or so riders because of the forecast of cold and rainy weather. The
ride conditions were pretty tough, with the forty three mile group experiencing some hypothermic
and near hypothermic riders with the low/mid forties temperature and rainy conditions.

Everyone went to Scott's house after the ride though, where a keg of hoppy Mercury beer and
steak tips made the pain go away! The sun actually came out at about 5 o'clock.

Hope to meet and ride with you soon!

I didn't recognize anyone in those photos except Rich. And whose -- and what -- was the pink and
orange faired Thing?

Yes, it was a raw day and I spent it working on a Toureasy-length room inside my garage for heated
winter bike storage -- no more butt shock getting onto a subzero bike seat!

And since I've ridden those Natick and Dover roads so much, I wish we'd have a different start and
route. Maybe Bay Street down past Easton to Taunton could be part of it. It's not near me but I like
that road.

C.C. (packing for a week in Berkeley, Napa, Anderson Valley and Mendocino, but -- unfortunately --
rental car, no bike)

Rich, I know how tough weather conditions can make riding. Why only this weekend I had to use a
double dose of sunscreen to deal with our 90 degree weather. When you coming out to California? Best

Yes indeed the bugle was sounded at the start of the ride -- although I didn't get a picture
of it. :-(
