Hi there,
anyone knows the Bose MIE2i Headset? Is it good to wear under the helmet? How is the sound?
Anyone tested it?
Greats from Germany

Horrible idea. Wearing headsets or earbuds has proven to increase the chances of an accident by 300%. See this: blisstree.comstatistic ipod running death accidents 765Open ↗
I've never wore headphones while riding or running, my ears are like having a pair of eyes in the back of my head so there is no way I would stuff something into them and limit my safety.

Many won't agree, but I will. When I'm on two wheels I want to maximize my situational awareness, and that means no headphones for music (not even if it's just one headphone), no speaker for music, and no riding with people listening to music.
I don't know the law in Germany but here in Maryland, USA it is illegal to wear headsets in both ears while cycling. A few other states have laws against it too.
I commute on a hiker/biker trail and it seems like every jogger is wearing headphones so when I say, "passing on the left" or ring a bell, they don't hear it. That makes it pretty clear to me that having my own ears blocked by music would be a bad idea.

I agree with that, too.
I agree with all the regulars on this. Headphones and earbuds have no place in cycling outdoors.
Thanks for your responses. The thing with the law i didnt think about it. *arghh*
I think, that cycling, especially the long rides are quit boring, so i do my headset on and have a little bit of entertainment.

Katrin, perhaps you should try to find a sport or fitness activity that you enjoy. I really enjoy cycling, but I realize others may not share my enthusiasm and might think it's boring.
You might want to try some different activities when you have a chance to do so.
Katrin, I love cycling because it gets me away from most of the noise pollution the world has and lets me hear the sounds of nature and to see creation. But, I hear you about the boring thing to a degree. I use to run a lot before I started cycling and running bored me to tears, I had a goal to run a marathon but because running bored me so much I couldn't run more then 15 miles so the marathon thing never happened. But cycling allows me to actually explore areas that are more distance from the house then running could, so I look at every ride like an adventure, thus the boring thing never materialized to anywhere near the degree that running did. I'm not going to lie to you, sure there are times when cycling gets boring, but I think if you look at each ride as an adventure and the further you ride the more of an adventure you can take, then maybe it won't be quite so boring. Most athletic endeavors are boring, like swimming (for me worse then running!), or running on tread mills, or cycling on trainers etc, but cycling at least not only gets you outdoors and the ensuing exercises benefits your health big time, but the adventure of it makes it real for me.
Maybe your the competitive type so for some people racing or training to race makes it exciting as it did for me; maybe your a people person so perhaps joining a biking club will help make it exciting due to the relationships you make; or maybe the solitude of riding alone with just you, the bike, and the road excites you; or just the discovery of new places seen at a slower pace then buzzing by in a car gets you excited; maybe simply beating your own personal best from the week before motivates you to keep going further and faster. Find something that will help you stay on the bike and make it to some degree exciting enough where you look forward to your next ride.
At least that's my outlook on it, yours differs of course, but try to find something that excites you to ride.
