    What good books are you reading? Not necessarily biking related, just good reads. Some of my recent favorites:

    SOG: The Secret Wars of America's Commandos in Vietnam     , by John Plaster.

    Good to Go: The Life And Times Of A Decorated Member Of The U.S. Navy's Elite Seal Team Two    . It's an outstanding account of a Seal Team member's experiences in Vietnam.

    This last one is a great read. For example, on his first mission in Nam, he misinterpreted a signal from his team leader as a command to slit an approaching VC's throat. So he did. And once he got the hang of it, he utilized this noise reduction technique on several other ambushes as well.

    If you're interested in the experiences of the dedicated soldiers in special forces units such as the Rangers/LRRPs, Navy SEALs and MACV-SOG green berets, these books are among the very best.

    No, you don't. The blend of Victorian culture, zombies, and marital arts works exceedingly well.

    Peter Ackroyd - The Casebook of Victor Frankenstein (great reimagining of the classic)
    Matthew Stokoe - High Life (Truly depraved story set in LA, a little like Filth meets American Pyscho plus necrophilia and copraphilia)
    William Boyd - Any Human Heart
    Janet Frame - Living in the Maniototo

    Stevebiker, you have to read [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Warrior-Elite-Forging-SEAL-Class/dp/1400046955/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1258433588&sr=8-1"]The Warrior Elite: The Forging of SEAL Class 228 by **** Couch[/ame]. **** Couch is a retired SEAL and he follows this class from Indoc through graduation and beyond. I thought it would be a dry book (it was given to me), but I found that I couldn't put it down. It's a great book.

    Right now I'm reading [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Morte-dArthur-Penguin-English-Library/dp/0140430431/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1258433760&sr=1-1"]Le Morte D'Arthur volume 1[/ame].

    An outdoor book I'd recommend to anyone is The Final Frontiersman: Heimo Korth and His Family, Alone in Alaska's Arctic Wilderness. He was one of the last trappers who set up a cabin and ran traplines while raising a family in the northern Brooks Range. By the time he left the wilderness, the U.S. government had passed regulations which made his lifestyle impossible to repeat. A very good read on living in the wilds of Alaska.

    Currently reading; The Passion of Fausto Coppi- Fotheringham. Before that it was Cycling is my life- Tommy Simpson.
    I only read cycling biographies, tried other stuff..... Boring...
