I suppose that's one way to do it. I had some dry-aged
prime rib roasts once, but didn't have one of those oven-
gadgets, so...

Since I marinade overnight with dry rub... then a 2nd night
in burgundy (with chopped onion in a Reynolds Oven Bag) it
only makes sense to do the parboiling by putting the bag of
ribs in the oven with the burgundy... then puncture bag,
pour off the wine, and BBQ as normal.
Imparts superb flavour.

You may like it and it may be good, but BBQ is is not.

Smother it with sweet ketchupy-type sauce and it is! Got
to replace that meat taste that boiled out with the
water some how.

I thought this subject was so often discussed here ...second
only to which brand knife to buy... that no one paying even
mild attention would not know how wrong boiling ribs is.
But, judging from some of the responses, I guess there are
still people who just don't get it.
HEY PEOPLE!... boiling ribs REMOVES FLAVOR!!
That's all I'm going to say. Let 'em gnaw on that bone. 😉

I was making a statement. Not asking a question. In
agreement, boiling ribs is certainly not the way to go about
preparing them. This is just my opinion. I wonder if
Moosemeat still boils his ribs...

Some people like them tender. But aside from that, I've
never seen anyone complain about using rubs and sauces
on ribs. Or smoke them for that matter. All of those
obscure rib flavor. Bottom line- if you're going to
smoke, rub, or sauce the ribs it hardly matters which
cooking method you use.

I remember one lengthy episode of boil bashing directed at
Moose. I felt sorry for him and didn't join the mob 😉 I
haven't seen him around in awhile. Hope he's okay.
