  1. Hello,

    I have few confusions:-

1.More gastric acid secretion may contribute more bicarbonate to body
as alkaline tide & may loose more hydrogen & Clorine as HCl. So foods,
with low pH may discourage gastric acid secretion & so may not
contribute bicarbonate to body--so can have acidic effect into the
    body. Is it correct?

2.Two type of medicines are used to control gastric acidity--antacids &
acid blockers. Antacids being alkaline, neutralize gastric acid & may
attract more acid secretion resulting into more bicarbonate into
body--so alkalizing effect. Acid blokers on the other hand, just stop
acid secretion & may not contribute bicarbonate into the body--so it
may cause acidic effect into body. Is it correct?

The above aspects may hold great importance in understanding acid/base
balance of body esp. when more or less gastric acid secretion may have
    opposite effect into the body.

    Pls inform me accordingly.

    Best Wishes.

  2. The body has a very effective control of ph level within a narrow range,
    don't worry about it.

  3. Most people in the know about this subject will agree roughly with your
    statements.

The result of too much acidity is muscle cramping, tendon tearing or
frequent tendonitus and/or bursitus as your muscles cannot relax to give the
    attachment/connective tissues a break.

Try the bicarbonate of soda at 4 PM each day to find out. Take about 1/8
teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate and wash down with a glass of water for a
week or so. I do not recommend doing this for too long. Your mineral
    balances may get way off.

Hyperventilating can also temporarily change your blood pH more alkaline to
test if it makes a difference to you.

This is usually a symptom of am underlying problem. Grains and somewhat
dairy are the usual suspects as they can irritate the [censored] out of your
digestive system and cause excessive acid secretion to try to compensate for
the lack of digestion. Acid reflux, hiatal hernias, diarrhea and
constipation on a cyclic basis also can indicate this. Arthritus, strokes ,
osteoporosis and heart attacks can be the long term result of acidic body
    pH.

    Best of luck.

  4. Thanks for replies. But these do'nt cover my questions. What is the
difference in taking antacids(eg MOM) & acid blockers ( eg;proton pump
blockers)? How these two effect internal pH & urine pH?

  5. The proton pump blockers don't. The acid has to be dissipated or neutralized
    somewhere.

This body pH thing takes a long time to change. Months of intensive diet
    restrictions are in order.

A "normal" and "healthy" body probably does. I have no basis for
    disagreeing with that.

However, not ALL bodies are "normal" and "healthy" - which seems to me to
put your comment in the category of statements that are uninformed and
potentially harmful if applied to one of the abnormal or unhealthy bodies.

..... and I am trying hard to be polite in my comment. Flame wars help
nobody, even when the temptation seems very strong. :-)

  7. These body pH denial people always toot this narrow range of pH as if this was
some revalation. In their own words they always use the word "range" though and
disprove their own intent with their own statements.

EG. your body pH is always exactly in the range of blah---blah and cannot vary.
    duh!

Let me kill two birds with one stone. pH can vary and when it varies it's
called disease. The likelyhood of somebody here asking about it and being
sick is very unlikely as he would be in a hospital. Not too many people
    going online in a hospital.
You can also be dead with a very large range out of the normal pH and they
again can not go online because they have no way of paying for the service.
Not trying to flame anyone only stating the obvious.

  9. I think you just killed your audience twice with the same stone.
