  1. Hey - nice work adam & Bruce - awesome results!!!

And Mick, great effort stepping up to Cat 1!!!! Maybe one day I'll be
able to step up from Cat 2.2, to 2.1.... *sighs* Sensational mate!!

After having the week off work last week (yay for annual leave!!),
watching lots of Le Tour, eating ridiculous amounts of chocolate and
corn chips, and absolutely zero cycling & running mileage, - well,
let's just say I won't be ready fro any maiden Lakeside jaunts this
    weekend!!

    Cheers all,
    Abby

You're not alone Abby - Tam, Lotte & I have done nothing on the bikes
for well over a week either 🙁

I won't be doing an LA ride till 28th at the earliest ...

  3. Thanks Abby. Actually it wasn't as tough as I expected.
I think us Brisbanites are kidding ourselves a little when
it comes to race categories, compared to say Vic.

My avg was 41.56 which was a couple higher than it
usually is in cat 2 but I didn't spend any time on the
front this race (by choice - that'll come) so I didn't have
to work as hard as some cat 2 races.

Any breaks were chased down in a more controlled
manner (not so much surging) and I had a few Fresh
teammates I knew would help if I got hung out to dry.

Besides lakeside (I'd love to try that, can't make it this
    sat)... who's doin' what?

    I've ridden! And stacked!

  5. Mick, I agree....coming up from Melb to Brisbane I was pretty sure that CAT 1 would be our B Grade. From what I can understand though, it was a pretty easy crit as most people were saving themselves for a road race the following day. I will be at the crit again, but going to jump up a grade (to me A grade was always easier that B grade....people willing to work, efficient rolling etc etc)

Sounds good Rhino. I'll be at Lakeside but I'm still injured so I probably
won't be racing. I'll do a bikely map of how to get there if I get a chance.

  9. Anyone up for Mt Nebo on the MTB, early Sunday am?

  11. Jeez, its going to be one long day in the saddle. 2 crits and a 80km commute between the two. Now all I hope for is rain and headwinds in-between....

Funny you should mention that, three days of rain starting tomorrow is
    the current forecast ...

lots of rain forecast... this is good, it creates mud and washes it off you simultaneously!

Rhino, not sure where you live, but I'm at Windsor and driving out and back to lakeside and have a van with plenty of room if you need a lift either out or back. Just PM me if you are on cyclingforums. Or maybe a cross rhino is not the sort of rider I want to be dealing with? 🙂
