  1. Hey all Bne-ites...

seeing as we can't rely upon our public transport system any more,
because it's such a high priority target for terrorist organisations
lurking within the public (and potentially this ng *looks around
suspiciously* er, whatever)... how's about we take our bikes somewhere
really far away sometime over the hols.

For example... ride to Lamington NP, walk through NP, camp or stay in
one of the hotels, ride back... or ride up to the Sunny Coast... or
something where we won't need to carry much, just pluggers and a fluffy
    bathrobe in our backpacks...

    ???

Camping is staying at the Sofitel😄 I dont like camping. Walking is for when you get a puncture on an unsupported ride.😄 😄

But seriously, sounds like fun. I'd be up for a bunch odyssey up the sunnie coast for a Bne ab bonding session, and back the next day? Bike security and cold beer would be priorities. Thinking caps people??

Are you saying I'm a threat to national security? I'd be more inclined to think that I'm a threat to personal security. Particularly if you drive a Commodore, Falcon... or a Prado. But I can't really say that anymore because Retro's wife drives a Prado (I FINALLY discovered this yesterday - almost by accident).

how's about we take our bikes somewhere really far away sometime over the hols.

How about we sit on our fat @rses and do nothing... or eat?

Oh... and what [censored] holidays are you talking about??? I've got three whole days off early December to get my face smashed I mean wisdom teeth pulled out (same thing, right?) and then standard days off plus a couple more over Xmas - is that when you meant? That's going to be HOT. I'll be buying one of those $20 shell pools from K-mart, sitting in it and dreaming about sexy men and Maroochydore.

That sounds like a LOT of effort. I'll catch the bus with all the (other) terrorists in Brisbane. Or drive... or something.

Lotte (rode my bike through terror stricken Brisbane yesterday afternoon - quite a sight really. Brisbane woke up for once!) Bum

  5. Yep - a super-long day ride or overnight would be awesome fun.

I've always wanted to ride Bne-Toowoomba?? The HGreat Dividing Range
hillclimb would certainly earn bragging rights!! And the descent on teh
return would be, well, Knick-staining to say the least!!

I'd also be up for a Bne-Sunshine Coast, or maybe a Tambourine
    jaunt....??

Highly dependent on better-half's permission, and kids school holiday
activities, etc, etc, but otherwise I am in!!

Well, I'm glad you translated that hippy, I was seriously wondering what pluggers were and what activities they would be used for by a group of cyclists wearing fluffy bathrobes. Not nearly as exciting as I imagined.

I meant Christmas. When I'm not doing a 40km run up Mt Nebo the day
after riding my bike out there to cache some water. Duh 😉

Plenty of options, and I might be up for something like that. I've camped a few times at the Canungra showgrounds, nice site by the creek and walking distance to the pub/shops. From there you can go up Mt Tambourine a couple of different ways, up to OReilly's, or down the Numinbah Valley past the Natural Bridge/Arch and towards Murwillumbah.

Down Byron Bay way is very nice riding as well, up through the hills to Nimbin/Kyogle, or Mullimbimby.
