BMC signs Samuel Sanchez
BMC have announced on their website that they have signed 2008 Olympic champion and Tour podium finisher Samuel Sánchez. Sánchez was on the hunt for a team since his prior Euskaltel-Euskadi announced they were folding last year.

Great news. He was far too good a rider to be languishing without a contract.

Sanchez is a great acquisition for BMC.
nice to see him get a contract. bmc continue to have a wealth of talent. looking forward to see how his plans and career mesh in the new setting.
Perhaps Sammy will flourish in an environment where he isn't expected to carry the team on his back. As a huge fan of Euskaltel, it was often difficult to watch their underfunded teams take on the big boys every year. Euskaltel team leaders such as Sanchez never had a chance in the grand tours.
