    Winter Blueberry Jam

Makes about 5 half-pints. Quick and easy to make.

You'll need sterilized half-pint canning jars with bands and
a box of new lids. Sterilize jars while cooking jelly.

    Ingredients:

6 cups (approximately 3 pounds) crushed blueberries.

    4 1/2 cups sugar

*Wash blueberries before crushing. In 8-quart saucepan
combine blueberries and sugar. Bring to a boil while
stirring and continue cooking until "jelly stage" (approx.
15-20 minutes of constant stirring). Imminently fill hot
jars with mixture leaving 1/4-inch headspace. Place lids and
bands on jars and process in canner for 5 minutes. A
    delicious holiday jam.

just made the blueberry struesel in the new penzey's
catalog...I'll know in about 45 minutes how it turned
out....I used 2 tablespoons of water, instead of milk, as I
don't have any milk....I also just called penzeys to tell
them that the directions left out the part on when to put
    the blueberries in the
mix.....I added them midway, on top of the first layer of
batter, with the struesel topping, then put the rest of
    the batter on top.
