  1. This whole newsgroup is dominated by on-topic posts! Ride reports,
questions about bikes, questions about kit...

Whatever happened to /proper/ content like whether wheels hang or
    stand?

Erm, the wheels sit on the road. You and the rest of the bike hang or stand
    on the wheels.

No, they *stand* on the road and the rider *sits* on the bike which *hangs*
    from the wheels.

    Simple innit?

Nope. At the moment about half my wheels are hanging from the garage
ceiling; about half are hanging from the frames hanging from the wheels
hanging from the ceiling and a couple are not hanging at all being on
their side in the Brompton in the boot. This situation may change
    during the day

No. After a long ride it's the rider who hangs.

I stand by the assertion that certain opinionated wheel builders should
    be hanged.

    Footway Guy? Who's that?

He's the one who runs the comic shop in Springfield for his brother when he is
    at a Dr Who convention.

Perhaps we should issue a call for uk.rec.cycling.on-topic to take the
    load off.
