I didnt say to discontinue it [censored]. I said to 'rethink' it and find
out if all his other supplemention goes in tune with it. Does this same
doctor know what else he takes on a regular basis? Does he monitor all
his blood levels regularly? Conflict of prescribed medications with
over the counter supplementing can be a serious problem.
I talk to my doctor. She is an Endocrinologist and yes, she knows what
else I take.
And I run my own blood levels of Magnesium and Thyroid hormones
regularly and supply her with the information...
As much as I dislike taking stimulants, she highly recommended the
Adderall and it's drastically improved my life. I get more done, my
concentration at work has improved and it's easier live a normal life.
She was right about using it.
Everything was going smoothly until I started working split shifts! It
is the ONLY factor that has changed.

Quoted message said:Which part of "Doc says I have a genetic renal tubule defect
which causes me to lose magnesium at an abnormal rate" do you
not understand? Maybe we can find a cartoon website with lots
of pictures to help you.
Put down your pedophile comics, get your hand out of your crotch, and
take a comprehension reading course you twit. I'm quite aware he said
he had a defect that he needs more magnesium than the average person,
BUT can he not get more magnesium in real foods instead of it all in a
pill form? How does he monitor how much magnesium he takes or even
needs? He just said he takes 'lots' which if he takes too much will
cause diarrea which will in turn deplete his system of all the extra
vitamins he is taking.
David is correct dear. And, for your info., the magnesium you can get in
"real" foods can still cause loose bowels. Supplementing it in a pill is
easier and, in fact, is LESS likely to cause diarrhea. Foods highest in
natural Magnesium are dark green leafy greens such as spinach and chard.
I'd have to consume truckloads of those to get the magnesium that I need.
Excess fiber from excess leafy greens will also cause diarrhea.
I've had the low magnesium problem for years. Do you think I've not
taken all factors into consideration and learned to deal with them? I
even know my own symptoms when my levels get low. Numbness and tingling
in my arms and hands, light headedness and a heart rate of about 130 bpm.
I vary the amount of Mag I take per day based on how I feel. 1,200 mg.
per day usually does it but if I pig out on the fresh swiss chard I grow
in my garden, I cut back for that day. I take more if I start
experiencing symtoms.

Has your [censored] grown a centimeter by mouthing off now? Oh no, that cant
be right ..that would imply that you even have one!

Joanne, while I appreciate you trying to help, there is a time and place
for "allopathic" remedies and treatments. There are other meds the doc
would be getting me to take as well, but she and I both know the less,
the better so we go with the minimum of what I need for good physical
and mental health and she does not push.
She is excellent and more than willing for me to stick with nutritional
therapy wherever possible.
