  1. Teehee, I should really be x-posting this to the circus on aus.cars. Anyway for those of us of a certain age, here's a little blast from the past. The American voiceovers are an absolute pisser.

    Mad Max trailer

It would be serious cool to do a mashup *bicycle friendly* version, with plenty of references to peak oil, ie: replace the motos to CT110's, the V8 Interceptor with a Prius, lots of bicycles and happy smiley people being oh-so-terribly-nice to each other in the streets.

Although if your inhouse budget doesn't run to totally reshooting the scenes, you could have a lot of fun re-voicing it all... Fight the dystopian nightmare with a bit of whimical silliness ... :p

Before I forget - replace Mel Gibson with someone else as well.

  4. classic film that.
being a westie, back then (late '70s early '80) it was cool to be riding my BMX converted dragster in some of those locations (police headquarters - now Sienceworks, Cherry Lane Altona - the 'van scene, etc...) .

In some m'cycle cycles, a ride out Ballarat way isn't complete without a doing a donut in the main street in Clunes.......

For old time's sake, don't forget a cut thru the Melb Uni carpark on the way home. 😉

I bought a German version of the DVD. I has 3 soundtracks in this
    order:

    #1Default: Dubbed German
    #2 "English": Dubbed American :-o
    #3 "Original": Australian

The local retro cinema (Zurich) had an outdoor cinema last year with
one week themed "Cars". So there we were relaxing with a beer, waiting
to inflict some Aussie cultcha on the Swiss. Then it starts, German
subtitles, American soundtrack. I almost cried.

** Bicycle content: this cinema/beer garden is also the hang out for
    Zurich couriers and their bikes.
