After nearly a year of infrequently being asked and just as infrequently promising that whenver both of us had time I would teach the manager of my local bike shop English, we've finally settled on a time and a class schedule.
We're currently working off of some Performance and Nashbar catalogues and a book I picked up for free in the US called "Beginning Bicycle Racing."
If anyone has some old copies of biking magazines that they don't want, I could really use some more material for him to study but not neccessarily enough so to make it worth trying to convince the shop to get a subscription.

I am not the one needing the magazines--that's Marian Rosenberg. I have some to mail to her. It's HER address we need.

Prepare to buy quite a few stamps - she's about 10 time zones away from Houston.

Especially since any effort of convincing laobanniang to get a subscription wouldn't honestly be to help out the manager's English but would actually be to give _me_ something to read.

It's not as if it couldn't be sent to the address in English, but it would take much longer to get here.

I sorta figured on someone at this end (probably Ah Zhi) paying for the shipping... being as he's the one who wants to become a commissaire.

Marian,
Perhaps you could send the written address as a jpeg? I know binaries in a text-only newgroup is frowned on, but I'm betting most newreaders in the West will render your text into ascii garbage like mine did.
Perhaps the sender could use both Chinese and English labels?

I'm not even sure how to send it as a jpeg from google groups.

The English label'll work, it just means a bit of a delay at the post office.
