Nah, they're more fun to kick and break.

personally, it's all the "PED X-ING" signs that keep getting in my way...

    annoying!

I am working on creating 400' of wildlife habitat that is off-limits to
humans ("pure habitat"😉. I need mental help? (I wasted the previous 8
years making no difference in auto dependence and road construction.)

Well, we already heard that one you repeatin piece of [censored].

MIKE! You idiot! What is the freaking point of this? You are "fighting
auto dependence", yet you want bikers to sell thier bikes for an SUV
instead? I am sorry but this is the stupidest thing you have posted.
You just earned a Ph.D in moronology.

the guy doesn't really care about the environment in a complete sense,
that is obvious, and continues to lie about it whenever possible. it's

Yes, it is very obvious that the only thing he cares about is hiking, and disturbing animals while he does it. As long as no one else is allowed...

Thank you, I don't know how I would have managed to grasp Mikey's rants
without both of your insightful analysis. That whole "catch him in a

    Please keep it up.

..> wheel. I had to jump away, he never saw me!
    ..
..I go on the pavement, it's a reality for me because the roads are just
..crazily dangerous at times. I slow to a crawl or get off if a pedestrian
..approaches though. I've had pedestrians come at me for just pushing a
..bike along the pavement - funny how a lot of them wouldn't think of
..complaining if it was a car flying towards them. Brainwashed. I've also
..been the pedestrian almost hit by bikes so I can actually understand
    ..their concern.

If that were true, you wouldn't be a mountain biker, riding trails too narrow
for two bikers to pass each other.

..> • Bikers never stop at stop signs or stop lights if it

    ..
..Don't see why I should sit behind lazy drivers at lights, breathing in
..their carcinogenic planet-wrecking fumes. I possibly transgress the law
..here, but to no-one else's danger. Would never cross the path of
..traffic. Plus, i've seen cars do it.
    ..
..> • Bikers driving at night without lights
    ..
..I agree this is crazy. If they get hit, it is entirely their own fault
..(and this is how the law, insurance etc will see it too).
    ..
..> What happens if you give a biker a little honk while
..> passing or to tell them you are behind them? The
..> chances are you will get yelling and a finger gesture
    ..> (at the least)
    ..
..Depends on how aware the biker is of a vehicle behind them. I've been
..honked at, and you don't know whether to throw yourself onto the verge,
..thinking it may be a car about to hit you. Damn right I'll give them a
..gesture. Horns are LOUD when you're on a bike, and they wreck your
..concentration. Car drivers should only honk a)in an emergency, b)if they
..know the biker is already aware of their presence.

You implied it. People who quit biking will most likely start driving cars instead of walking. The SUV is the most likely type of car, based on they are the current "hot" cars, loved by hollywood types. Learn to use logic.

Visions of hordes of biology undergrads loitering at roadsides, trying to
coerce frogs into straying across the road is just too funny for words.

I suppose most would be ironed flat under the wheels; you'd only really be
able to dissect ones that were glancingly hit mid-hop.

Thanks for that advice, care to elaborate?

"In Marin, there were two bikers were killed by drivers in the last few
    years."

    "you
have a choice between a head on with a car or hitting
a biker. What would you choose?"

    " Insurance companies will eventually
charge more for people that mountain bike (like
smokers) or not cover biking accidents. (Who pays for
the injury to a pedestrian by a bike?) "

"because I am a defensive driver I did not assume the
biker would do the right thing. Anyone else would
    have hit him."

Now can you see, Dumbass, how you have convinced me not to ride my bike anymore? I guess that I can read, and you are stupid. Thanks for trying though.

  20. I have cycled in Spain last June, and have seen cyclers and drivers who respect each other. Do they keep the law? Not really. They simply practice tolerance and common sense, but mostly respect and responsibility.
There are plenty of reckless drivers and cyclers. The only solution is education, and lots of it.
