bike vs car

Inspect EVERYTHING! If you have teh least bit of doubt about something, take it to your LBS and let them look at it.

I rode the bike today and pushed very hard (new pr for my reg out and back 35km course) the bike seemed fine not even a scratch or torn handlebar tape no new creaks or funny noises am I in the clear

I crashed a steel bike into a the back of a van a few years ago. Two weeks latter the frame developed a huge crack, (the head tube-downtube weld) without any warning. I rode it to work it was fine, and riding it to a group ride that evening the steering got swishy. I got of and there the crack was.

I would still have a pro take a look at it.

If it fails unexpectedly, you can be seriously maimed or even killed.

Get it inspected as best you can, and watch what they are doing to make sure they do a good job.
