I have an unused one (I bought mounting brackets so that I could move
the Cateye between bikes), but a friend had one. It seems OK, although
his no longer works. I don't know if he hasn't replaced the battery or
if it never recovered from his upending the bike onto it when fixing a
puncture one day.

Given the cheapness, expect erroneous readings near overhead power lines
or when operating a mobile phone! ;-)

If its the one I had (which erroneously reported I was travelling when I
wasnt*) it has a HRM. If you dont want a HRM, the the HR display takes up
50% of the screen, so IMHO its not a good buy.

Bought one last week at the £14.99 price (dagnamit!)

Had to have a bit of padding added to make it tighten up enough to fit on my
handle bar gauge - it's designed to go around a bigger diameter bar than
mine. Occasional tendency to read Speed as 0mph - presumably due to
inteferance or incorrect positioning - but it sorts itself out fairly
quickly. Other than that - I reckon it's pretty good. I've not tried using
the heart rate monitor belt thing though. It does average speed, maximum
speed, current speed, odometer, tripmeter, time, temperature.......

I've got a wireless on my MTB, not one of these, but a cateye. I've just
bought a new one for my race bike. I decided that fitting a wired one well
gives better results than wireless. My wireless one goes a big wonky in cold
weather and I don't really want to have to keep an eye on it to make sure
it's not suddenly registering 0 mph 🙁

The cateye ones do that, these aldi ones don't seem to.

A real bargin at this price, I'm tempted to pick one up as a spare.

Well spotted. I might have a go at the frame bag and perhaps the hardwired
cycle computer.

I have the frame bag. It's fine, although it's *just* annoying enough to
remove that I don't use it very often. You need to undo 3 velcro straps,
so if you plan on removing it everytime you leave the bike somewhere,
you start wishing you had a QR saddlepack. (Especially if you have
exposed cables on the crosstube, so you have to thread the strap
underneath them)

I've got one from Lidl that was the same price, different shape but the same
bracket by the looks of things, so possibly the same
manufacturer/electronics - it is easily subject to interference giving silly
HR and max speed readings. Somehow the distance/time readings seem to come
out alright, but I'd be very inclined towards saving the money towards a
better quality one, or else just going for a cheap wired one.
