I have been looking for a sensible mountain bike for a while,
mainly for riding up landrover tracks to save us a long walk-in, but maybe
the odd offroad bike tour as well though probably all very benign.
Front sus, nothing silly for the rest, and preferably not made of cheese
or falling to bits after the first use. Second (or more) hand probably.
I have just come across a Trek 4100 on Ebay but the seller did not list
the frame size:

(Item 170119402747)
I have emailed the seller to ask how tall the previous owner was (and/or
his leg length) but no reply as yet, and the auction ends this evening.
Looking at various photographs of bikes of that series (4100, 4300, 4500)
I guess the frame is probably quite large, maybe at least 19.5", but maybe
someone with more experience in the group can make a better guess?
I am probably looking for 18" though I can probably do OK with 19.5", but
certainly not any larger. I am 5'9.5" with a 33" inseam.
Thanks, Roos
