Bike Fenders

I haven't seen the fenders that you describe, but if you want to see how I mounted fenders and a rack to my bicycle with no braze-ons, look at the pictures here:

They're held on with basic vinyl coated P-Clamps.

I made the front fender pretty short in back because I can't stand having my feet hit the fender while I'm turning sharply--which I have to do fairly often on my commute.

I wish it was that simple on my racing bike but there is no room for fenders between wheel and frame. I got the snap on fenders they are nice but don't give full protection.

How much space do you have? Is this the problem between rear tire and the seat tube? I don't have much clearance there either, although it's not to the extreme that the tube is notched out to for the tire.

I think I found a good solution for the whole fender problem on my bike. I'm thinking of getting a touring bike with braze-ons for winter riding, and use my speedy bike for dry weather and riding it completely naked--the bike that is, not me. It is so much more fun to ride when it's not loaded down with several extra pounds of stuff.

I have a cross bike with V-Brakes so clearance is not a problem, but if you are using road brakes Colorado Cyclist has some cool fenders that will work for you. They are attached without the use of eyelets and only covers half the wheel.

The only commonly-available (around here at least) fender set seems to be the SKS Race Blade

Not sure as to their effectiveness or durability; they don't appear to be a "full" fender, but they must be better than nothing..

thats what I have. they work well. but if you go about 20mph or so water is blown back from the front wheel at you (G) plus I need to put a mudflap on the front to keep the spray off my feet. but they are far better then nothing.

If memory serve, Planet Bike has fenders that will work for your setup. I think their website is www.planetbike.com
