I really like mine. Although having said that, I do find it
a bit of a squeeze getting myself in.

posts I have learned a lot.

I know someone that rode across the usa towing a bob trailer
on a FS frame (K2 razorback). IIRC his suspension did not
work quite right after that, but that's probably a lot more
miles (+ 2 mountain ranges) than you'd ever put on yours.
The bike was already moderatly used before that too. His
bike did still work, I think that there was just a lot of
slop after all that.

posts I have learned a lot.

I have a one-year-old and a Trek Rocket trailer. I only use
it on hardtails (cruiser and road bike), but it rolls well,
and has some nice features. It's got a sturdy aluminum
frame, a suspended seat (suspended sort of like a hammock),
and a nice bug screen/roll up windshield. We got a couple of
mounts so we can keep one on each of our townies and it's a
quick switch to move oit from one bike to another that way.
It also converts into a jogger and works very well in that
capacity as well.

We all love it in our family! When the weather's nice it's
all we use to take the boy to/from daycare and around town.

Gotta concur w/ Penny on this one. We've put two kids
through the exact same progression. We started 'em out with
an el Cheapo Costco trailer that worked just fine -- on
pavement and fireroads and as a stroller on ocaision. I
borrowed a Burley from a friend to tow the boy wonder on a
x-country trek when he was 3 and it was nice not to haul all
the weight. Normally, though, on the types of rides you'll
bring the kiddies on weight and speed aren't issues. The
kids get tired and cranky before you do. Snagged a used "tag
along" bike as well that served through both kids, and now
they're both on their second bikes each. High end stuff is a
waste in this market. Safety is always key, but I don't
think you'll run into too many issues there if you check
everything out well each time you ride. Cheap is good. Used
is probably best. Quality components are wasted on the
"juice and cracker" set.

True. I got mine as a gift from my parents, so the cost was
less of a concern (and the Mrs works at a bike shop that
carries them). We figure it will get passed around our
circle of friends as we all just starting to reproduce in
the last year or so (seems to be the "in" thing). It also
seems like it might be handy for hauling stuff (besides
kids) around on the bikes, like going to the store. We aviod
driving whenever possible.

Forget all this [censored] - fit old pram wheels directly to kid
and fasten kid to bike with rope. They don't grow out of
this until big enough to ride their own bike.

think of what happens shoulD you topple the bike and he is
in a back-seat.. Not pleasant.
