They kind of do. They get a little yellow sticker to place on their
helmets to indicate that they are on the winning team.

Newbies wouldn't believe that, and it's not exactly right anyway. The
winner traditionally donates his winnings to the team that got him there,
and more than makes up for it in endorsements, clever sponsor ads, lawsuit
awards, and the like.

Bike racing is a funny beast as it takes a team of nine guys riding
there hearts out every day, to get one guy to win it. Remember the
entire thing is the guy who gets around France with the lowest total
time. The team work involved is making sure that the other guys aren't
able to do it faster than your guy, making sure he has food, water or a
bike if he breaks his. Getting him safely to the portion of the day
where he can do his "thing" be it climbing, sprinting or whatever it
takes to be the first guy around France in the shortest amount of time.
There is a team completion also but it takes a major back seat to the
individual winner. Lastly, just because your guy is the overall leader,
doesn't make your team the overall leader of the teams comp... there is
another set of guidelines for scoring that one.

The froggies didn't believe it either. When his french taxes were
audited, after his second tour win. Lance's teamates had to provide
documents, to the froggies, that he had indeed donated all of the tdf prize
money to his team. Part of the reason why, Lance moved out of France.
