Cycling Kit Frenzy Report
My nearest store is Old Kent Road, London, and I unwisely went there
first. I was 30 mins late for grand door opening ceremony, and cycling
raiders on their way into town had done their work well. Cyclists were
marching out of the door trying to peer round huge piles of kit in
their arms as they went. Eek! The checkout was pure empty thermal
u'wear boxes, and further in, 'nuff bare hangers dey 'pon de floor
aroun' the stan' for de shirts an' jackets dem. Didn't like the locks,
and the overshoes only went up to size 9. One-size-fits-all socks
looked tiny. No sign of biblongs, and trews only in blue. Backside!
There was still some stuff left, but mostly in odd sizes, and it was
disappearing as I stood there. In the end I bought a couple of items.
When I left there were still plenty of gloves, socks, tops and jackets
(these two in red mainly). Luckily I had time to make it across to
Catford, the next nearest to me. This is a bigger store, and seemed to
have a larger allocation of garments. Blessed biblongs! In all sizes
(t.o.w. 13.00 28/9), similarly drawstring trousas, and thermals in both
black and white. The thermals look and feel decent (not top) quality.
Top has teabag/perforated front liner. Long-johns are drawstring waist.
When I started looking at the wireless bike computer with heart-rate
monitor (9.99), I knew it was time to blow the scene... Aldists in full
uniform are now required to salute each other on the commuter run...

Look OK, but blanked them due to my size 13 tailfins
My score c.£120 (me and mainly gf top to toe). Not a stitch intended
for ebay (unless I've wildly miscalculated broadness of Ms J's rear
[spreads hands]).
