  1. Hello all, Just had a response form my MP to my BHIT e-mail. She did sign the EDM but appears to
have revised her opinion in light of further info

She also tabled a written question (855 for answer 1/12, answered 3/12/03) [DfT ref 0002 03/04]
Question was about number of cycling (a) fatalities & (b) serious injuries, divided into adult &
children, the responder was unable to say what proportion were wearing helmets (which does seem
rather strange to me in view of this debate). for your info and possible use I will attempt to
    reproduce the table below

    2000 2001 2002 child adult child adult child adult fatal 27 98 25 111 22 107
    serious 731 1856 649 1840 572 1694

n.b. as I subscribe to two large newsgroups it may be
several days before I see a newsgroup response

This is actually very positive as these figures directly contradict the BHIT version of stats from
    parliaments own mouth.

Here's the table reformatted so that it doesn't wrap the lines:

    2000 2001 2002 child adult child adult child adult fatal 27 98 25 111 22 107 serious 731
    1856 649 1840 572 1694

    cheers,

    Phil

Some hope. Try this, it has hard tabs so it would take a pretty stupid text layout engine to [censored] it
up - the lesson is don't try editing news with 'proportional' fonts!

    2000 2001 2002 child adult child adult child adult fatal 27 98 25 111 22 107 serious 731

Simon did say it would take a pretty stupid text layout engine to [censored] it up. Mark's newreader has
cocked it up. Mark's headers include X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2600.0000 So, no
    suprises there then.
