I think it's more a matter of the team management simply never paying much
attention to those guys. It was all about Jan for them. They were all seen as
secondary to Jan's success.

Yes, it is all about Jan.

people like Zabel, Wesemann, Kloden, Vinokourov had horrible years on
that team. Some of them are even so moronic to stay there. If we look
at the huge improvement Vino is showing in his current team we can not
draw other conclusions then to say T-Mobile sucks!

What huge improvement ? Last year this time he had already won LBL.
Presumably he's focusing on the TDF this year but he hasn't as yet shown
better form than last year.

Is it a waste to get eight final podium positions (across four riders,
including two firsts), three team wins and countless green jerseys in
the last ten years in the TdF?

I suppose their presence in the Giro and Vuelta has been more wasteful

They had success in spite of the team. When did they ever really support Zabel in
a stage race? He won the green jersey by taking advantage of what the other teams
were doing. Remember Vino being chased down by T-Mob in the Tour recently? As for
Vino's apparent lack of results this year, well, he's trying to peak for the Tour
and not waste any energy in the early season. Telekom/T-Mobile did support certain
riders in a few short stage races and one day races but the focus has been on Jan
Ulrich.

Indeed, since Godefroot retired, everything is about Ullrich. Even
Zabel and Vino were kicked out now.

Zabel got full support in every other race. And unless I was completely
blind I have seen Weseman and Alldag pushing the last 10 miles for
Zabel almost every flat stage. Zabel would have maybe won more with
full support (I am a big Zabel fan!) But saying he never got support is
a blatant lie and quite demeaning for the T-Mobile domestics.

When did van Heeswijk get real support with Discovery?

Vino and kloden rode fine GC's with T-Mobile. Anyone thinks that with
more support they would have beaten Lance?

All I see are double standards all ready on Jan bashing.

But

Give me an active racer with his palmares.
Give me a rider with such consistent TdF score
Give me a team wich does dramatically better all round (compare last
three years CSC and T-Mobile, just for grins)

I wouldn't be surprised if Jan fails this year. I don't think his
methods are efficient....

But if I were a team-coach or a sponsor I could do worse to bet on Jan.
He is incredibly constistent and always good for publicity. he is a
nice, MODEST person on television.
