Better than Pam vegetable spray

I use a Misto. It has a pump on the top which you use to pump air into the bottle. Be careful not to
fill it more than two-thirds of the way full so there's room for the air.

You can fill it with the oil of your choice (I actually have one for olive oil and one for canola
oil). No additives, refillable, much cheaper than Pam.

I just use an inexpensive plastic spray bottle intended for misting plants. I have one with olive
oil and one with canola oil. The spray isn't as fine as the aerosol cans, but it is nearly as good
at a fraction of the price.

Never had that problem with Pam or any other release spray, but when it happens with my hair spray,
giving the spritzer thingie a quick run under hot water and reeming around in the spritz hole with a
safety pin clears it right up. ;-) It's great being a girl!

Thanks for the tip, however: I have that exact problem with Bakers Joy and there are no
substitutions that I can find. Cleaning the nozzle doesn't work. I'd hate to go back to greasing and
flouring. Any ideas? Thanks, Roberta

I have the same, but one for regular and one for extra virgin olive oil. I bought one for my
daughter as well and although she thought it was nothing more than a gadget, she has come to reply
on it now in the kitchen and uses it every day. Same with a friend who came to visit and bought one
before returning to France.

Knowing canola, I tend to think it would clog the tube a lot faster than olive oil. After all, in
WWII, it was used to lubricate ship engines :-)

Soak the nozzle in very hot, soapy water for a few minutes. Put some of the water into the misto,
pump it up, and spray it. Then rinse. That always works for me.

are you storing your PAM at?

I had this problem once with spray starch, and found to my surprise that there was this red dot
on the rim of the can that the nozzle had to be lined up with in order to work properly. Once I
lined them up, I had no problem. Don't know if that will work with your Baker's Joy, but it's
worth a look-see.

The most important thing I've found is to be sure not to fill the bottle up too much - you need to
leave plenty of room to pump air into. I found when I overfilled the bottle, it would spray as if it
was clogged, but when the bottle was less than two thirds full, it worked fine.
