men's ones usually.
All the women's ones legs are too short. (castelli, pearl izumi, cannibal
and hardly any make bib knicks for gals).

However, beause I ride a big fat women's seat, I find that the chammy isn't anywhere near wide enough and I actually get sore where the seam of the chammy meets my seat (and my bum, obviously). Do you know what i mean? Having said that, I also don't want to look like a cheap skank when riding my bike, nor do I wish to scare people.

The best women are wearing them.

LotteBumYou _don't_ wish to scare people? Hahaha, yeah, sure!
The best ones are the ones I get for free, from the ADF or from random
prize draws. Although my old ADF knicks are now my racing ones. The new
ones have this weird chamois that I don't like so much and they're still
slippery knicks, not worn in.But when purchasing, I like any knicks that don't have the fancy 3D
chamois thing going on. They're pretty comfy when they're in the right
spot, but if they shift on you, suddenly you've got bumps and divets
where they shouldn't be! I like the smooth ones!Actually I like tri knicks the best, if you can get long ones... the
mini chamois is about a zillion times more comfortable because it all
stays on the saddle and doesn't have rough edges. Some of my knicks
(cannibal team ones) have given me chafing on the inner thigh because
the chamois goes too thick too far; others have chafed my bum from a
too-small chamois.Aargh... knicks-purchasing sucks!

My partner seems to have a strong preference for the ground effect's jitterbugs.

I'll second what Gemma said. I like the Castelli blokes ones, as the legs on the girly ones are always too fsking short.
I also ride with a men's saddle (Selle Italia Flite) 'cos all the women's ones I tried made my thighs chaffed.
Guess my legs are just close together (or else I've just got fat-[censored] thighs)
Cheers,
Suzy

suzyjI tried a men's saddle. Near cut me in two. I must have a wide load.

Most women will find men's knicks will fit fine mainly due to the fact that
almost no men's knicks have stitching through the centre anymore and they
are slightly longer in the leg than most women's specific ones. The best I
have used are pearl uzumi and my partner had the same and swore by them, she
also rode a Selle Italia Flite but was by no means a slight build. -
I was up at Rebel Sport in Brisbane today - they had Netti women's
knicks on sale, down from $69 to $39...Absent Husband
