best tires

Depends what your looking for I know I had some nice vittoria's ride nice and lite but had flat after flat after flat. I'm not a racer so I bought some bontrager hardcase's and man they are tough, little heavy and stiff but I ride right over ANYTHING and keep going. Now that's what I like! 🙂

I have to agree that it sort of depends. My favorite tire is the Veloflex Pave. Handmade by the factory and staff that made Vittorias, back when Vittorias were actually handmade. Its a light, supple tire. Nice ride and I dont get that many flats off them. You can probably find something more durable and it might be my roads etc, but this is the tire I ride all the time.

I use Michellin Pro Race for my train wheels and Pro Race II for my race wheels.

I just got 2 yellow Veloflex Open Tubular Ultralight H.P. Types PAVE. I have not tried them as of yet, however am real excited to throw them on once this snow has disappeared.

I have yet to discover if they are the "best tires in the world" :o

Bontrager Race X Lite for racing, never leave home with out them 😄

Fast, light, excellent grip and cornering capabilities and strong puncture resistance.

I don’t now if it's the best of the world, but for sure is one of the best.

Well, I speak here as a seller of tyres so maybe my posts are a little biased but I have had a good close up look at pretty much every tyre around and I have to say that I really like Vittoria road tyres and Continental MTB tyres.

For mass produced stuff, the top end Vittorias - like the Open Corsa Evo CX - are hard to beat at the price.

Conti Vertical Pros and Explorer / Escape Pros are good value and a great ride too.

Sure, you can get better by spending a hill of money, but on anything less than a £5k bike, I think anything over £50 a pair for tyres is a bit much.

You don't have to ride the best tires to go fast. I ride cheap Vredestein Ricorsos and Michelin Dynamic tires and I hit my top speeds on those tires. I use those cheap tires for training and commuting miles. I only use the best tire for when I race - so Michelin Pro Race or Pro Race 2 will do. I also like Vredestein Fortezzas for training. Hutchinson Carbon Comps were terrible and they got a lot of bad reviews. I got my first flat today using Michelin Dynamic tires - so these tires should use a Kevlar liner to protect against glass punctures.

WOW! Not long Left!!!!

I fitted my hybrid bike with a couple of continental travel contacts and Ive got excellent results so far... only one puncture after some six months of casual riding. I still have to test them with extended long distance riding though.
