I've tended to get mine from Spa Cycles recently (who also dispense
pretty good advice about wheel building, and have some fine rims in
stock), but given my last order was for >400 maybe I should be talking
to distributors.

Have you used the roseversand web pages recently? I get diverted to
<http://www.roseversand.de/output/controller.aspx?cid=1>
whigh gives my browser serious hick-ups. But this may be a MS-IE
compatability issue; I am not using that browser.

Works OK for me. I get diverted to that page as well which is the
catalogue front page and you can then click the little Union Jack on the
top right to get the english version of the catalogue. I tried it in my
normal Firefox and its fine and also switched the Firefox rendering
engine to IE and it worked fine too, so I'm not sure what your problem is.

Looks like a Java-script issue. All the other recommended web sites
worked with my default (Mac) browser - iCab. A later version, with less
restrictive settings (java, cookies, etc. . . ) allowed the pages to
load.

Searching a bit on my own led me to <wwww.bike-box.de>, which also stock
spokes, among other bits (no browser problems there - but on the other
hand, apparently no English text version). Both German companies seem to
price their stuff competitively, until you check the P&P charges. 16 and
12 euros to the UK, respectively, which easily outbalances what you can
save on small orders, such as spokes for one or two wheels, though.

It looks like the ACIs are relatively cheap, 2x22 for one wheel at
around £6, but plus £6 for P&P. Looking around the web took me to
<www.pedalbicycles.com>, who priced boxes of 100 or 144 at the £19 - £22
level. However, I couldn't see their P&P charges, since their web page
was down for maintenance earlier today.

I'll check with w3.deesidecycles.com for their pricing, but I will
probably end up with a couple of sets of Sapim Lasers from either
DotBike.com or Parkers International, which both wanted around £20 for
two sets of 20 spokes.
