Ok so the question is, what is the best pair of road shoes youve ever had the pleasure of wearing? I love the Sidi Ergo 1's but its just not stiff enough, if they made a slightly stiffer sole, would be prefect. Im wearing Specialized Pro and it is very comfy and has a wonderfully stiff sole.

SIDI Genius 5 Carbon. Just bought these right before Xmas. Love'em every moment I ride in them. I had NorthWave before and they were quite heavy. Plus, NW had a detachable sole that with time became flexing with every stroke.
I found carbon sole in SIDI is stiff enough for me.

Rocket 7 customs. Can it get any better than custom?

My Sidi Genius 5 Lorica's were pretty hot, definitely stiff as hell. Those were my first pair of shoes with a buckle clamp and I liked it very much. The only downside to them (which may not apply to others) were the pressure points created by the straps and buckle. Loosening them would fix that problem, but then where's my heel support? I plan on purchasing the new Specialized S-Works Boa shoes, because the boa system looks absolutely incredible, and I want to give Specialized Body Geometry footbed a shot. I'm excited to use a carbon sole too.

Sidi Ergo 1 not stiff enough? wow! those are hard to beat. but, i use DMT Ultimax RSX and i love them. very stiff, comfortable and i like the way they look. Also, i couple of my riding friens are using Diadora Veloce and they really like them.

I absolutely love my SIDIs. Short of the Rocket 7 customs, of all the shoes I have tried, I'd say SIDI. Currently have a pair of SIDI Energys.
