One that fits. I went with one that was hard as hell, and
did 'not' have a hole in it. I certainly did not get it for
style. It's black. Plain black, and the the most comfortable
saddle I've ever used.

Long story short......there seems like there's as many
saddles out there, as people with backsides. It can be a
real crapshoot finding the right saddle. I got lucky to find
one that fit so easily.

I hear ya want to stay away from the gel saddles.

Saddles are a personal preference. Just get one that has
pressure points the same width as you tailbone distance.

I had one with a hole in the middle and it caused more
problems than it solved. It got replaced for one with a
channel which is very comfortable. Of course, as others have
pointed out, it's all to do with personal preference /
anatomy and YMMV.

Like others have said, it's a personal thing. I, for one,
would stay away from bloated gel saddles. You'd think they'd
be more comfy, but I found them to be a hassle because the
seat surface moved around too much. Maybe they're better
now, but...

Find a bike shop that'll let you try saddles. I went
through six or seven saddles from a small shop in Golden,
CO until I found the one that fit me the best. I'm REALLY
happy with mine.

Also, get good shorts.

For the record, there are both male and female saddles with
cutouts. The difference is in positioning and shape.

Black Hawk. It's in a strip center on the east side of 93 at
a traffic light.

Randy and Carla are the owners. Stop in and say hi. Randy is

BTW, I still haven't had a chance to get to that second hand

You'll get votes for every kind of saddle from folks on a
newsgroup, because people here probably have every kind of
ass. My favorite is the WTB stuff with the groove...I run a
Laser V on my main bike and love it. I also have some weird
Selle San Marco Dynamica Socca something that was attached
to a beater. It looks like [censored] and feels awesome.

I picked up a Titec Ithys-Amore for my new commuter based on
word of mouth. Everyone loves it, I find it to be a wretched
piece of [censored]. Go figure; to each his own. You just gotta
try them out. My advice would be to get your hands on a WTB
anything-V, then try out some of the Serfas RX saddles.

I like/use the WTB Laser V with the groove. But then it
comes stock on a lot of bikes and was stock on mine when I
got it. Fits my butt fine so that's all ever I needed.

Nashbar.com has the WTB Rocket V Stealth on sale for $59.
Says Rocket V Laser, but I believe it's the same as the
Stealth. The packaging says it's a Stealth anyways.

Oh, great saddle by the way. Way more comfortable than the
Terry Fly I was using.
