Thompson makes an extremely stiff and durable stem. (It's a little
heavier than most, but I don't believe you really want to compromise
when it comes to this particular component).

Did you loose two pounds before your other post, "Argon, Calfee,
Madone" (where you are 179lbs)? If you lost two pounds, just

For ease of installation, the Thomson seatpost has my vote, and it's
light too, and available in pretty much any size you could want. Get
the matching stem, which is slightly trickier to install but otherwise
shares all the virtues of the post, looks very neat and is certified
for use with carbon steerers. Bars are probably more a matter of
choosing a shape that suits. If you find it comfortable, and a lot of
people do, the Selle Italia SLR is hard to beat as a lightweight
saddle.

All these recommendations apply equally to road and mountain bikes;
you didn't specify which you were building.
