Hi, I completed a sprint triathlon last summer and had a blast even if I sucked and died in the
transitions. I am looking froward to greater competency this coming summer and wondered what the
best source would be for reading material and learning some finesse and technique. I have purchased
2 different magazines but honestly they were above my head and I didn't understand much of the
"lingo". Where you recommend I start (trolls go ahead and have fun with this but I am serious).?

The Complete Book of Triathlons by Sally Edwards. It's available through Amazon. I used it last year
when I started doing triathlons (seems so long ago) and found it to be a fantastic source of
information for someone gettign started but also quite useful once you start to understand how it
all works. I just had a look at Amazon and they have heaps of other books by Sally Edwards.Dave B.

Thanks, I will take a look at Amazon then. Good luck this summer.

group and I think it's fantastic although I don't really have much to compare it with.Just started Tri last year.

Now that I see your name is Diane, there is another book worth looking at. I'm not sure of the title
but Sally Edwards has also written a book on Tri training for women. I'm not sure why the training
would be different but it's probably worth checking out. Dave B."Doc" <[email hidden]> wrote in message "]news:[email hidden]...

The most comprehensive book is Joe Friel's TRIATHLETE'S TRAINING BIBLE. Though you won't be able to
use all of it as a beginner, if you simply read the initial chapters on fundamentals, you can apply
those right away. Then you can read more specialized chapters over the coming years as you get
better. He does cover complex subjects, but is perhaps the most consistent and clearly readable
writer in the genre. Nothing he says is that new or radical, just presented with clarity.
