Plastic drive pulley attached to the spokes? I'll pass. That's a
toy, not a serious piece of long-term-useful kit.

Of course, I expect no better from PopMech; that rag's been known for
looney gear for as long as I've been aware of its existence. Pick up
any issue that's over 15 to 20 years old, and you're just about
guaranteed to find that one or more of the articles covers tech that
either was bogus, badly executed, conceptually flawed, or otherwise
laughably wrong in retrospect...and they lauded it as the wave of the
future. More like the hand-wave of the future has-been, in my
experience.
