I have the Creepy Crawler on my trials, and a Maxxis Max
Daddy on my Torker. The Creepy Crawler is far more directionally stable
than the Max Daddy. The Max Daddy tends to wander a lot on pavement but
is OK on trails. However the Creepy Crawler is excellent in all
conditions.

Ive only ridin a luna, and ive ridin on 3 lunas...they are all the same
LOL, i cant help much, youd have to go with someone whos tried em all,
but from what i hear from those who actaully have tried em all, the try
all is the BEST...

I've only ridden a friends luna for 10-15 minutes, and havent done
hardly any trials-worthy stuff on it. But in about 5 days or so I'll
have my own trials with a maxxis c.c. and about another week after that
I'll ride with my friend and be able to compare the luna and maxxis side
by side. So expect this thread to get bumped.🙂

I've tried everything on there but the echo. I hava a hate/love (that's
right) ralationship with my monty tire.

The rounder profile of the tread makes it nicer for turning than the
others. It's side wall is thicker allowing a lower pressure with less
chance of folding. the rubber compund is more durable.

but, i've had more problems with it than the others, it is more prone to
pinch flatting, and I've had three of em delaminate on me. I wish it
didn't feel so much better to ride with, cause I'd definately switch to
a tire that is easier on tubes if it diddn't

I've found the Maxxis to have alot less grip on ice then other tires
(kiczumbut, k-rad, duro) Have you really tried riding the Creepy Crawler
in all conditions?😉

I had the pleasure of riding vivalargo's 20 with a tryall rim and tire.
My feeling is that the tryall tire is where its at for natural trials!
However, I didnt like it as much (as a luna) for street.

I wish i could explain myself better but its been a long time since i
rode it. Those are just the feelings i remember coming away from the
experience with.

My first trials uni had a monty tire on it but i was really just
starting out at that point so i cant give an accurate review.

Now in all reality, you guys shouldnt be concerning yourselves with mod
tires. 24 is really where its at! The hell with 20/19! 🙂

I hope at least the first part of this might help somebody in some small
way.

After 10 KM's of snow/ice riding at -5F and at a max cold of -13F my
Maxxis cracked (deep cracks between the all the lugs around the entire
tire) Then spring came and the cracking stopped. I've only had three
Maxxis tires but all of them cracked in the snow. Maybe I just happened
to have three bad tires and the rest of the Creepy Crawlers are fine?

BTW, We worked out the warrenty with Darren and Kris; I just wanted to
say they both were great to deal with!

Are you saying the cracks went away, or it just stopped and didnt get
any worse? Did the cracks get deep enough to split or..?

I just got my trials with the Maxxis yesterday, and right away I noticed
the sidewall difference from the luna. Its been two weeks since I rode
my friends luna, but I can still recognize the difference. Im thinking
that the maxxis has a more rounder profile, but Im not sure.

When the warm weather come the cracking stopped, the cracks didn't get
bigger. The cracks are in the upper level of the tire (the softer
rubber), so once the cracks got so deep they would stop and the soft
rubber would kind of delaminate. (See attached photo)

I'm usually run around 24 PSI. However, on long static side hops, it
still folds over but for normal trials it seems to work. I got that tire
pressure by just adding more air every time I hit the rim on a drop or
hopping on a rail.

Back on topic: Do you find the Luna has more or less "bounce" then the
Maxxis? Any other observations?

Now i'm getting really worried about the comming winter..
We'll have temperatures around -30C (-22F), at mid winter, and we'll
have many many days with temperatures around -25C (-12F), and that's mid
day..

Is my Creepy crawler that came stock on my onza trials going to be all
cracked in a few days when winter is here?
Is there any better tyre for winter riding?
And i don't like the maxxis one, it folds like crazy..

I'm probably gonna swap my luna for a maxxis in a week. my luna is just
a few days over a year old. it has held up fine for me up until this
point. it's getting a little too worn for my liking, and seeing my new
maxxis sitting in my room, i'm itching to try it out. I do run my
pressure at about 29psi.

i bet i'll have to run the maxxis higher than that. i don't want my
tire to fold. i haven't had that problem with the luna by far.

i bet the tire won't tolerate southern michigan winters. maybe i'll
have to find an indoor spot to practice before snow even hits the
ground, since it cracks in the cold. ugh...

that's weird that people voted the most for the maxxis, when that seems
to be the tire that has the most problems.

so far i noticed the tread is really sticky, and the sidewalls are very
thin. i'm wondering if the tire will hold up.
