That is quick! Took me over 4 hours to get to the top last time I did
it - though to be fair I was extremely hung over at the time!

Just after starting the slog up I was passed by a scantily clad, skinny,
old bloke running up the path. Further up the path, he passed us on the
way down, and further up the path, he passed us again going up!
I'm fairly certain it was the same bloke, though IME all fell runners
tend to be scantily clad, skinny, old blokes!! :-)

yep I was there a few years ago when that race was on ...

luckily we took the CMD Arrete so we would have missed the whole
thing, was it not for all the blood on the scree coming down.

Good luck mate - I don't know how you do it! 2 years ago I was staying
at the cottage at Achintee Farm and was fortunate enough to watch the
competitors go by.

From Achintee to the summit takes me 2.5 hours and 1.75 hours back down
under full steam - and that is pretty quick for a hillwalker/scrambler.

Ben Race competitors do the whole thing from about 1.5 hours or so and
they do the extra mile or so each way from Achintee to the sports pitch
- absolutely staggering!
