I train the "old fashion way", but only because i am 15 and i dont have enough money to get stuff.

I only got my road bike like 2 weeks ago after 6 months nagging my mum and i ride in jeans or track suit pants. I feel like such an idot when i see those riders that look like pros.

So since i dont have all those fuuny gadgets i ride to how my body tells me . i ride till i get extremly tired and thirsty . When i get thirsty i have to home because i haven't got around to buying a drink bottle yet. So yeh just set your self a place to ride then do it and if your not buggered do it agine.

Although it may seem like unnecessary gear, a good pair of shorts and a jersey will get you a long ways. I jut bought some cheap ones off performancebike.com, and im sure your lbs has something similar. But, nevertheless, my philosophy is, it's better to be out riding and look a bit funny than to stay home cause you don't have the "right" gear.
