Hello all, I have just recently started cycling and I have a MTB bike but I would like to get a good road bike. Any suggestions? I am looking into a Specialized allez sport 27. Is this a good bike? What about the Giant ORC 1?I would like to spend no more than 750. Also my inseam is a 33 1/4 do you think a 56 is a good sized frame for me? Thanks for all of your help.
I don't know much about Specialized bikes (they're not very common here in Australia), but the Giant OCR1 is a good value decent road bike, with a good mix of components. If you don't get the itch for competition it should be good for a long time.
re: the fit, road bikes are more sensitive to poor fit than mountain bikes. Most online frame dealers have online fit calculators that can give you a good starting point.. www.wrenchscience.com and www.competitivecyclist.com are two I can remember off the top of my head.
