Hi, I'm John. I'm from Irvine, hoping to join the local cycling club. I'm just getting into the sport. I'm looking for a new bike and I have no idea what to look for. ๐ ๐ Could some of you guys help me out? I would really really appreciate it. If it is under about 1100, most likely it should be okay. thanks for the input.

Be sure to look at the Specialized Sequoia - it will hook you on cycling with its comfort/performance/price. That was my first bike. I now ride a Specialized Roubaix Pro. -

opps, my bad. thanks. :o :o -
For just getting in to it, I wouldn't even spend $1100 because you'll learn more about bikes and realize that you want a fancier one. It seems like the general consensus is that, until you get up in to the $2500 and higher range, bikes that cost $600 to $1500'ish, seem to be pretty comparable. I'm riding my $600 Trek for now, then stepping it up and getting something I really want when I get better and learn what's good and bad.
