Yes, it is. I bought some Bunzlaur pottery years ago in Europe and love
it. I have a large rumtopf and some small plates, one I use as a drip
catcher at my stove.

Beautiful but can you really eat/serve off it? My xSIL said something
about ceramic lead paint in that fancy stuff makes it for display only.

I frisbee'd into the dumpster a whole set of cheap-o china because of
the paint, with great effect I might add! 🙂

While I was shopping at TJ Max the other day in their 'sale' kitchen
department, I saw a plate that struck my eye, which happened to be a plate
that I had bought in 1979, and it was verified by the copyright on the back
of the plate. Now there it was half-the-price as in 1979, which means it
was probably in today's money actually 1/10th of the actual cost. Why did
it catch my eye in 1979 and in 2005, yes! because it still is pretty (to
me).

As far as I know if there is any reason the product shouldn't come
into contact with food, a warning needs to be posted. They sell
"bakers" so the implication is it's lead free glaze. If you decide to
buy something but have concerns about it, use a lead testing kit
(inexpensive) to confirm or deny a lead based glaze.

This hand-made and hand-painted pottery is fired at temperatures of
3,000 degrees Farenheit, making them not only durable but impervious
to abrasives and resistant to cracks and chips. All pottery is
intended for everyday use and is lead/cadmium free. The glaze allows
foods to release with little or no oil. All pieces are safe for the
refrigerator, oven, microwave and dishwasher. (Always allow them to
come to room temperature when going from the extreme of the
refrigerator/freezer to oven. Extreme temperature change will crack
the pottery.
