BB sizing for Barracuda

Barracudas, like other Asian bikes, use standard ISO ("English"😉 bottom bracket threading. Most, if
not all are the standard 68 mm size, but might be "oversized" 73 mm. This is easily measured with a
ruler, it's the width of the frame's bottom bracket shell.

Beyond that, it depends on the make and model of crank you will be using on the bike. See:

Yes, they are 1.370" x 24t x 73mm

I recently purchased some Barracudas and I've had a few different models. All mine are clearly
labelled "Made in USA".

What kind of info?

I measured my BB shell, and it is indeed 73mm. I have a 1.370 X 24 Shimano ES70 BB (118) that I took
off my GT which I thought should work. It is a for a splined "Octalink" crankset. It worked great
with my XT cranks. Each side threads in just fine on the Barracuda, but when the 2 ends meet it is
very tight, too tight. I can tighten it all the way, but probably shouldn't as it seems to be
impeding the BB spindle movement. I tried the same size square taper BB with the same result. There
are no metal shavings; I am certain I didn't cross thread it. I have asked the previous owner of the
frame what he used, haven't gotten a response yet. Any ideas?
